KISS vote a publicity stunt?

If you haven't heard, the band KISS says it will play on the first ever fan-routed tour. Meaning, the markets that vote the most saying they want KISS, will get a KISS concert. I'm curious about this and wonder if it's nothing more than a publicity stunt. But what if it isn't? It would be awesome to see KISS at the Resch. So, for what it's worth, I voted for Green Bay.
