Hey Godsmack! Get ready for the Appleton band Profane! Profane won the June 30th Wisconsin Rock War in Oshkosh. As the winner, Profane will open for Godsmack at the Leach Amphitheater on July 21. Nine bands competed on June 30th and they were all great bands. Four excellent judges picked Profane as the top band that night. Special thanks to judges Ned the Dead, Sarah Owen of the Oshkosh Northwestern, Rachel Hawkinson of Deluxe 920 magazine and Cutter of radio station WZOR. It seemed like most, if not all of the bands were thrilled to be part of the Rock War. They said they knew of each other, but rarely got to see each other play because they were doing gigs at the same time in different places. The event went off very well and the band schedule was on time all night long.

Don't forget about a unique event now on sale -the Get Cooking! Food Show with celebrity chef Bobby Flay. Flay has several shows on the Food Network and will do two live cooking demonstrations in the Resch Center. The other aspect of the show is the Marketplace in Shopko Hall where dozens of vendors will display their connection to the food industry and in some cases, offer free samples! This promises to be a cool event for everyone who loves food and that pretty much puts me at the top of the list. We're still looking for some vendors too, so if you're connected to the food industry somehow, give us a call!
